Directions to the Lake in the Hills Fen Nature Preserve:
Chicago: Take the Illinois Tollway (I-90) northwest to Randall Road exit on the west side of Elgin. Exit northbound on Randall and go approximately 6.5 miles to Algonquin Road. Turn right (east) on Algonquin and go 1.5 miles to Pyott Road. Turn left (north) on Pyott and go 1.3 miles to Barbara Key Park. Turn left into the park and follow the park road to the parking lot in the rear.
Crystal Lake: Take Main Street south. Around Virginia it becomes Pyott Road. Continue south on Pyott about 1.7 miles to Barbara Key Park. Turn right into the park and follow the park road to the parking lot in the rear.
Algonquin: Starting at the intersection of Algonquin Road and Highway 31, take Algonquin Road west about 1 mile to Pyott Road. Turn right (north) on Pyott and go 1.3 miles to Barbara Key Park. Turn left into the park and follow the park road to the parking lot in the rear.
